On Thursday, a train reportedly stuck outside Attiguppe station for around 30 minutes, leaving morning passengers on Bengaluru’s Namma Metro Purple Line—which runs from Challaghatta to Whitefield (Kadugodi)—frustrated and stranded. This caused considerable confusion and delays during peak hours.
Metro Purple Line Hit in Bengaluru
The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) reports that services between Kempegowda (Majestic) and Chellaghatta were temporarily suspended due to a technical issue that occurred at approximately 9:15 a.m. between Vijayanagar and Hosahalli. The confusion was exacerbated when the impacted train was later transferred to Vijayanagar and passengers were asked to exit, allegedly without adequate notice from metro employees.
By 10:15 a.m., partial services were restored up to Mysore Road, and by 11:00 a.m., regular operations resumed along the Purple Line.
